    BLS Provider (AKA BLS for Healthcare Provider)

    General information: This course is for Healthcare Professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. This course covers Adult and pediatric CPR, Two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask, Foreign-body airway obstruction, Automated external defibrillation, Special resuscitation situations and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Class length: 4 Hours.

    Students Receive: The BLS Provider Manual (original students) and an American Heart Association certification card (valid for 2 years).

    General information: This is a basic first aid course which can be combined with Heartsaver CPR/AED. This course covers common medical and trauma emergencies as well as environmental emergencies such as frostbite and heat. Length of class is approximately 3.5 Hours.

    Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

    General Information: The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course teaches students to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or an infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course is also ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and guardians

    Students Receive: Heartsaver Pediatric student manual (original students) and an American Heart Association Certification card (good for 2 years).

    Audience: The course is intended for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to children’s health emergencies, including child-care workers, teachers, foster-care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations.

  • Family & Friends CPR

    Family and Friends CPR

    ​General Info: This is a non-credentialed basic CPR course for lay people. It is designed for people who want to learn adult, child and infant CPR skills for their friends and families. There is no test or skills evaluation. Students receive a course completion card with their CPR booklet. Course length is approximately 2 hours.

    **You will be participating in a Heartsaver Adult, Child, and Infant certification class but will not receive the certification card. The price for this option is $30pp, Heartsaver is $50 (look above for Heartsaver class information). **

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

    NOTE: Life Saver Training has teamed up with Empire State CPR to provide ACLS training to our students. Any student who registers for this class will be trained by Empire State CPR.

    General Information: Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage Active participation. Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency. Classroom-based works well for learners who prefer group interaction and instructor feedback while learning skills.

    ACLS Course Content

    • Key changes in advanced cardiovascular life support
    • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
    • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
    • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
    • Airway management
    • Related pharmacology
    • Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
    • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
    • Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics

    Audience: ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

    Course Format: The American Heart Association (AHA) offers a blended option for the Heartsaver CPR/AED Course. This online/blended option has 3 parts.

    Part 1 is called “Heartsaver® CPR AED Online Part 1”, which involves the lecture part of the course and it must be completed online by the student at https://www.onlineaha.org.

    Parts 2 & 3 (Practice and Skills Test) must be completed at a physical location with an AHA instructor in a traditional classroom setting. This course covers parts 2 & 3.

    HOW IT WORKS:

    • Complete Part 1, called “Heartsaver CPR AED Online Part One,” online at https://www.onlineaha.org. You can purchase part 1 below. If you purchase part 1 from us, we will send you an email with a code that you must enter on the AHA website to gain access to the course. If you already completed part 1, you can just register for a skills session below.
    • Complete Part 2 & 3 by reporting to the skills session you registered for to complete your certification. *You must PRINT and bring the online certification from part 1 to the skills session*

    If you do not wish to take this blended option, you can register for the traditional classroom format under the course named “Heartsaver CPR/AED.”

  • Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Online (OSHA)

    Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Online (OSHA) (1-Hour)

    This self-directed eLearning (online) course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training.

    The Heartsaver BBP Course was designed specifically for employees in settings such as industry, Fortune 1500 companies, occupational health, property management, hospitality, security, and health and fitness staff. Other audiences that may be interested in the Heartsaver BBP Course due to additional state regulations include childcare workers, school personnel, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, and state corrections facilities. This course is for anyone with a reasonable chance for occupational exposure to blood or blood-containing materials, including childcare workers, school personnel, maintenance workers, tattoo artists, and state corrections facilities employees. The Heartsaver BBP Course is designed to meet OSHA requirements when paired with site-specific BBP training.

    Using Interactive activities and video demonstrations of skills, this course teaches:

    • What bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
    • Protection from exposure and how to act if exposed
    • How to clean up after exposure
    • How to tell or report any exposure

    Students receive a participation certificate upon completion of all modules. No on-site training is necessary.
